Lubrication. Wire rope strands shall be impregnated with the minimum amount of Pure Lube Cable Lube needed to close the cable during fabrication. No petroleum base lubricant shall be used on strands during assembly. Pure Lube Cable Lube shall be GC Lubricants’ Pure Lube Cable Lube. After closing the Cable, the Vendor must “flood” or saturate a second coat of Pure Lube, (as recommended by GC Lubricants), on the outside wires to prevent oxidation of the outside wires, while the cable is in storage.
