Common use of Lubrication Clause in Contracts

Lubrication. The types of lubrication specified for Facility equipment will be suited to the operating conditions, will be in the beginning of the lubrication’s life cycle, and will comply with the recommendations of the equipment manufacturers at the time of facility turnover. Rotating equipment will be splash lubricated, force lubricated, or self-lubricated. Oil cups will be provided as necessary. Where automatic lubricators are fitted to equipment, provisions for emergency hand lubrication will also be specified. Where applicable, equipment will be designed for manual lubrication without the removal of protective guards while the equipment is in operation. Lubrication fill, drain and sample points will be readily accessible. Manual lubrication provisions will be external to guards with machinery in motion. Wherever possible, the lubricants proposed will be readily available.
