Lines and Grades. All lines and grades will be given by the Engineer, but the Contractor shall provide such material and give such assistance therefore as may be required by the Engineer, and the marks so given shall be carefully preserved. The Contractor shall keep the Engineer informed, a reasonable time in advance, of the time and places a which he/she intends to work, in order that lines and grades may be furnished and necessary measurements for record and payment made with the minimum inconvenience to the Engineer or delay to the Contractor. No claim for extra payment will be allowed for the cost to the Contractor of any material, work or delay occasioned by giving lines and grades, or making necessary measurements or inspections, as all such cost shall be considered to have been included in the price bid for the work.

Lines and Grades. Responsibility of survey for lines and grades shall be as specified in the project plans and bid documents.
Lines and Grades. Profiles and elevations are indicated on the PLANS. All WORK under this CONTRACT shall be built in accordance with the lines and grades indicated on the PLANS. These lines and grades may be modified as provided in Part VI (Changes in the Work) in the CONTRACT. The establishment of the lines and grades shall be set forth under these GENERAL CONDITIONS, as modified by the SUPPLEMENTAL CONDITIONS. CONTRACTOR shall verify all vertical and horizontal controls using the nearest benchmark.
Lines and Grades. The Design-Build Firm shall, at its own expense, establish all working and construction lines and grades as required for the Project and shall be solely responsible for the accuracy thereof.

All benchmarks and control stakes shall be carefully preserved by the Contractor. In case of destruction or removal of the same by the Contractor, its subcontractors, or employees, such stakes, marks, etc. shall be replaced by the Contractor at the Contractor's expense. If the Contractor fails to do so, the City may do so and charge back the Contractor. Additional construction staking as needed for the work, including lines and grades, shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor, and the Contractor shall receive no extra time or compensation therefor.
Lines and Grades. Contractor shall provide for the proper laying out of the construction Work, for making measurements and for establishing temporary or permanent reference marks in connection with the construction Work. Owner may at its sole discretion and cost, check the reference marks, lines, grades and measurements so established. Contractor shall carefully preserve all monuments, bench marks and reference points. In case of its destruction thereof, Contractor will be responsible for all damages, costs and expenses related to their replacement and for any mistake or loss of time that may result therefrom. Permanent monuments or bench marks which must be removed or disturbed shall be protected until they can be properly referenced for relocation. Contractor shall furnish materials and assistance or the proper replacement of such monuments or bench marks.

Lines and Grades. The Departmental Representative will establish reference points in the field for the location of riprap stockpiles. The Contractor shall exercise care in the preservation of reference points or base lines set for his use. The Contractor shall pay for re-establishment if they are displaced or removed.
Lines and Grades. Contractor shall establish construction base lines and bench marks for the Work. Said base lines and bench marks, and all stakes or other markers established shall be preserved by Contractor until their removal is authorized by Owner. Owner may, from time to time, check the layout of Contractor, but such checking shall in no way relieve Contractor of its responsibility for the accuracy of the Work. Contractor shall provide, at the request of Owner and as a Reimbursable Cost, competent personnel to assist in this checking.
