Level E. A Level E academic will provide leadership and xxxxxx excellence in research, teaching and policy development in the academic discipline within the University and within the community, professional, commercial or industrial sectors. A Level E academic will have attained recognition as an eminent authority in his or her discipline, will have achieved distinction at the national level and may be required to have achieved distinction at the international level. A Level E academic will make original, innovative and distinguished contributions to scholarship, researching and teaching in his or her discipline. He or she will make a commensurate contribution to the work of the University. Research academic staff (inclusive of creative disciplines) Level A A Level A research academic will typically conduct research/ scholarly activities under limited supervision either independently or as a member of a team and will normally hold a relevant higher degree. A Level A research academic will normally work under the supervision of academic staff at Level B or above, with an increasing degree of autonomy as the research academic gains skills and experience.
Level E. Within ten (10) days following the receipt of the arbitrator's decision, the parties shall meet to take under advisement the arbitrator's award. Within ten (10) days of such meeting, each party shall indicate to the other, in writing, whether or not they will be bound by the arbitrator's award. In any event, the decision of the Board shall, after full compliance with this Article X, be final.

Where there is an inconsistency between this Agreement and the NES, and the NES provides a greater benefit, the NES provision will apply to the extent of the inconsistency.” The following clauses within the Agreement will be affected by the operation of Clause 7.6: Clause 31.5 – An employee who is a member of the General/Professional staff of the University, and whose employment is terminated for unsatisfactory performance, shall be entitled to a period of notice as follows: - Less than 3 years’ service – 2 weeks’ notice - More than 3 years but not more than 5 years’ service – 3 weeks’ notice - More than 5 years’ service – 4 weeks’ notice - An additional 1 week notice if the employee is over 45 years old Clause 34.4 – An employee who is terminated for “Abandonment of Employment” shall be entitled to a period of notice as follows: - Less than 3 years’ service – 2 weeks’ notice - More than 3 years but not more than 5 years’ service – 3 weeks’ notice - More than 5 years’ service – 4 weeks’ notice - An additional 1 week notice if the employee is over 45 years old Clause 45.2 - An employee of the University who is employed in the State of Victoria or the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) shall be entitled to take Long Service Leave following seven
