Common use of Lecture Demonstrations Clause in Contracts

Lecture Demonstrations. (1) A Lecture/Demonstration shall count as one-half (1/2) performance service providing that the total elapsed time including travel but excluding Rest Time between demonstrations does not exceed four (4) hours, and providing that each Lecture/Demonstration does not exceed fifty (50) minutes in length. If Lecture/Demonstration exceeds fifty (50) minutes in length, overtime shall apply in one- half (1/2) hour increments. There shall be not more than three (3) Lecture/Demonstrations in any one day, each being separated by not less than one and one-half (1-1/2) hours if travel is involved and by no less than one-half (1/2) hour if no travel is involved. A Back-to-Back Lecture/Demonstration shall consist of two Lecture/ Demonstrations, each not to exceed fifty (50) minutes in length, performed in the same location for two different audiences within a two and one-half (2 1/2) hour period with an interval of not less than twenty-five (25) consecutive minutes between. A Back to Back Lecture/Demonstration is equivalent to one (1) full performance. (2) In the event that a Lecture/Demonstration is scheduled on the same day as a regular performance, the provisions of this Agreement relative to a two-performance day will apply. No ARTIST may appear in more than one Lecture/Demonstration on a performance day. With the exception of back-to-back Lecture/Demonstrations, should an ARTIST appear in more than one (1) Lecture/Demonstration on ARTIST performance day, said ARTIST will be paid not less than one-sixth (1/6) ARTIST'S weekly salary. (3) On Lecture/Demonstration days, the performance and travel shall be counted in actual time. (a) When LECTURE/DEMONSTRATIONS require travel, all travel shall be provided by EMPLOYER. The called time shall include the period from departure to the venue until return from the venue. A thirty-minute break shall be given to the ARTIST upon return. If a LECTURE/ DEMONSTRATION encompasses the COMPANY lunch break, the ARTISTS performing the LECTURE/DEMONSTRATION shall be given an additional 15 minutes either by a 15-minute break during the period of travel or by extending the rest period for 15 minutes. For example, if the travel and performance total 3 hours, and the COMPANY is rehearsing a six- ho ur day, the ARTISTS may be called for three additional 3 hours of rehearsal, provided all other regulations regarding work day procedures (rest period, span., etc.) are followed. No ARTIST may appear in more than one Lecture/Demonstration on a performance day. With the exception of back-to-back . (e) Rehearsal will be permitted following Lecture/DemonstrationsDemonstrations only if there has been a one and one-half (1-1/2) hour rest period from curtain down time prior to the commencement of such rehearsal, should an ARTIST appear subject to the terms of Paragraphs 27.5 and 28. (f) On Lecture/Demonstration days when no other performance is scheduled, rehearsals may be scheduled as follows: Three (3) hours of rehearsal in more than the event of one (1) Lecture/Demonstration on ARTIST performance per day, said ARTIST will be paid not less than one-sixth two (1/62) ARTIST'S weekly salaryhours of rehearsal in the event of two (2) Lecture/Demonstrations per day and no rehearsal on days when three (3) Lecture/Demonstrations are scheduled. (3g) On No stage makeup will be required for Lecture/Demonstration daysDemonstrations, excepting special ethnic or character stage make-up integral to the performance and travel Dance Piece, in which case ARTIST shall be counted in actual timecredited with half hour call before the scheduled start of the Lecture Demonstration. (ah) When LECTUREThe ARTIST shall have access to the performing space at least one (1) hour prior to the starting time of a Lecture/DEMONSTRATIONS require travelDemonstration. The EMPLOYER shall arrange for a suitable warm-up space with barres for the ARTISTS. The EMPLOYER agrees to provide a professional floor surface for all Lecture/Demonstrations. Stage Manager or their designate is to examine the floor and assist in preparing the floor surface for the safety of the ARTIST. (i) The EMPLOYER will arrange for adequate dressing rooms to include dressing and seating space and bathroom facilities for all occupants. (j) If circumstances exist that make it impossible to provide warm up space and/or adequate facilities as described herein, all travel the EMPLOYER will meet with the AGMA delegates in advance to discuss acceptable alternatives. (k) The choreography of the dance pieces to be performed shall be provided by EMPLOYERmodified to adapt to the existing physical limitation for all Lecture/Demonstrations, fund raising or similar events which could endanger the ARTIST. The called time EMPLOYER must provide a marley dance surface for all aforementioned events when available. (l) All non-open rehearsals and/or performances in front of an audience in the Black Box Theater or any studio shall include the period from departure to the venue until return from the venue. A thirty-minute break follow all terms and conditions of this Paragraph 39. (m) EMPLOYER shall be given to the ARTIST upon return. If a LECTURE/ DEMONSTRATION encompasses the COMPANY lunch breakgive ARTISTS at least one (1) weeks advance notification including all details (i.e. schedule, the ARTISTS performing the LECTURE/DEMONSTRATION shall be given an additional 15 minutes either by a 15-minute break during the period of travel or by extending the rest period for 15 minutes. For examplerepertory, if the travel and performance total 3 hours, and the COMPANY is rehearsing a six- ho ur day, the ARTISTS may be called for three additional 3 hours of rehearsal, provided all other regulations regarding work day procedures (rest period, span.location, etc.) are followedof any event covered by this Paragraph 39.
