Common use of LEAD PAINT DISCLOSURE Clause in Contracts

LEAD PAINT DISCLOSURE. It is the Landlord’s belief that the house you are renting contains lead based paint which was commonly in use prior to the year 1978. Lead is known to pose serious health hazards if ingested. Although it can harm adults at higher levels, it is critical that infants and small children not be allowed to ingest lead paint chips or lead paint dust which may occur in old houses. The lead paint in this house has been largely encapsulated with subsequent coats of non-lead paint to reduce this hazard and to comply with the City Property Maintenance Code.
