Common use of Job Reduction Clause in Contracts

Job Reduction. If due to job reduction an employee is transferred for a period of less than four (4) weeks to work where the job rate is lower, he or she shall retain his/her regular job rate. At the expiration of four (4) consecutive weeks the lower job rate shall prevail and the employee shall cease to have any right to return to his/her prior posted job unless on a new posting. If an employee is transferred to a lower rated job on a job posting or at the employee’s request, then the lower rate of pay shall apply immediately. When the transfer is the result of inability to perform the job, health, or request, the lower rate shall apply immediately.
