Involuntary Transfers/Reassignments. 1. Qualified applicants for vacancies may be considered for vacant positions prior to the involuntary transfer/reassignment of any bargaining unit members.

Involuntary Transfers/Reassignments a. Involuntary transfers/reassignments will be made in accordance with provisions of Articles IX (Assignment and Reassignment), and XI (Transfers). If transfer becomes necessary under the terms of this Article, the District shall actively seek volunteers prior to making any involuntary transfer.

The involuntary transfer of certified staff member may become necessary due to pupil distribution, instructional requirements, a change in facilities, reductions in force, and/or other reasons. Certif ied staff being involuntarily transferred shall be given written notice prior to the transfer. Whenever possible, notification will be given within thirty (30) calendar days prior to the last day of the school year. At the written request of a certified staff member identified for transfer, a meeting will be held with the Superintendent or designee within ten (10) working days of the notification to review the reasons for the reassignment/transfer. In the event a certified staff member is involuntarily reassigned/transferred, that fact shall be a consideration the following school year should that certified staff member apply for a voluntary transfer to a permanently vacated position, provided the individual meets the criteria outlined in paragraph 6.3.
Involuntary Transfers/Reassignments. 29 10.4.1 A unit member may not be transferred until given an opportunity (written communication or 30 a telephone call, if the unit member is not available for a personal interview) for a meeting 31 with the Superintendent to discuss the reasons for the transfer.
