Intern Program. The District operates a College Intern Program and High School Intern Program. In connection with these actions, the District and the EA agree that individuals appointed to College Intern or High School Intern classifications shall be allowed to perform bargaining unit work based on the conditions set forth in this Agreement.
Intern Program. The Publisher may hire up to six newsroom interns at two-thirds of A-1 scale and up to a total of six interns in other departments at the appropriate beginning wage scale for a period of up to 12 weeks each, generally during the summer. Interns will be current college students or those who graduated within four months preceding the internship. Interns will be part of a supervised program which could include mentors, weekly seminars, and exposure to other departments. The Publisher will notify the Guild in writing when any interns or fellows are hired under this section. The Guild will be given an opportunity to be part of any intern orientation program. The limit of six newsroom interns does not include up to two additional interns who may be compensated by Knight Ridder or any source other than the Publisher.
Intern Program. The intern program provides college students on-job experience in accordance with school/university requirements. The following intern program guidelines will be followed.
Intern Program. The district's Pre-intern Program provides candidates with in-classroom support by a trained support provider, the required professional development and support in curriculum, instruction and pedagogy (Initial Teacher Training and ongoing professional development), subject matter competence, and test preparation strategies. The program also provides advisement throughout the duration of the pre-internship and during the transition to an intern program or other credential program.
Intern Program. K-10.1 The Employer and the Union agree on the value of an internship program. Interns may be assigned Designer duties by mutual agreement between the Union and the Employer.
Intern Program. Section 27.1: INTERN ASSIGNMENTS The District may employ new interns annually in such numbers as needed in critical staffing areas, provided that the interns do not supplant regular unit members. The Intern Coordinating Committee will monitor as necessary.
