Instructional Qualifications. Instructors must hold the relevant qualification, or equivalent, listed below for each activity that they will instruct: Mountaineering/Trekking – Mountain Leader Training Board ML(S). Canoeing/Kayaking – British Canoe Union (BCU) Level 3 (minimum) Coach (Inland), White Water Safety Certificate. Sea Paddling – BCU Level 3 (Sea). Rock Climbing – Single Pitch Award (SPA). Mountain Biking – Technical Trail Bike Leader. Caving – British Caving Association Local Cave Leader. Gorge Walking – SPA, ML(S), White Water Safety Certificate. Supporting Qualifications. Further to the qualifications above all instructors must be in possession of the following: Full clean driving licence – endorsed to pull canoe/box trailer, ie, D1 + E. An in-date/current First Aid Certificate (St ▇▇▇▇▇ or other approved awarding body). Activity/Training Sites. Activity/training sites are to be restricted to those where Land Clearance has been requested and authorised. Land clearance is the approval process for military training to be conducted on non-MOD land. Any additional AT locations will require clearance before training can take place there. The responsibility for submitting Land Clearance lies with the Chief Instructor (CI) ITC AT Wing, and will be requested at the beginning of each training year. Training will be centred upon Halton Camp near Lancaster although some training will be conducted in the Lake District and other locations within that general geographical area. All locations currently in use have been approved through the Land Clearance process.

2. Total years of post-secondary teaching experience or combination of relief and night school teaching. For part-time instructor, six hundred (600) hours equivalent to one (1) year of teaching. 1 Step/Yr.
