Instructional Hours. 1. In elementary schools: a. The school day for instructional purposes shall not exceed 5 hours, inclusive of 15 minutes recess in the forenoon; b. The total instructional hours in any calendar week shall not exceed 25; c. The instructional hours in Article D.29.1.a and D.29.1.b above may be varied by a majority vote of the teaching staff to allow schools to bank time for educational activities. There shall be no more than two (2) days banked per school year and these days must be used within the school year they are banked.
