Initial Steps. i) Initial examination of a classification grievance (A) The job description forming the basis of the decision being grieved must be the job description of the employee who is presenting the grievance. (B) A classification grievance cannot be considered valid when the job content is being contested. The Labour Relations Advisor will inform the grievor and/or his or her representative that a new grievance may be filed once the content of the job description is resolved. (C) In cases where the grievor contests both the classification and the effective date, the grievance committee will proceed with the hearing of the grievance and will adopt the effective date assigned by management and indicated on the work description. The grievor will have the option of pursuing the grievance on the effective date through the grievance procedure set out in Article 37.
