Common use of In-Transit Time Clause in Contracts

In-Transit Time. 1. When an Employee receives a special assignment to attend Company authorized training or to fulfill temporary assignments or vacancies, the Employee shall receive compensation not to exceed eight (8) hours per day for time spent in traveling or waiting, at the straight time rate. If it is the Employee’s scheduled day off, they will be compensated at the applicable rate. If such special assignment involves traveling after completion of his regular work for the day, he shall receive the applicable hourly rate for such hours spent. 2.1. When an Employee receives an emergency work assignment away from the Employee’s home Station, the associated travel and waiting time will be considered work time, except time not on duty and he shall be compensated at the applicable straight time or overtime rateWhen an Employee receives a work assignment away from the Employee’s Maintenance Base (e.g. a temporary assignment or to cover a vacancy temporarily), or is assigned training away from the Employee’s home Maintenance Base, the associated travel and waiting time will be considered work time and will be compensated at the applicable rate. However, time not on duty shall be excluded as work time.
