Household Hazardous Waste. “Household Hazardous Waste” means that waste resulting from products purchased by the general public for household use which, because of its quantity, concentration or physical, chemical or infectious characteristics, may pose a substantial known or potential hazard to human health or the environment when improperly treated, disposed or otherwise managed, or, in combination with other Solid Waste, may be infectious, explosive, poisonous, caustic, toxic, or exhibit any of the characteristics of ignitability, corrosivity, reactivity, or toxicity as per California Code of Regulations Title 22, Division 4.5, Chapter 11, Section 66261.3
