Common use of Honoring Cards Clause in Contracts

Honoring Cards. Merchant shall honor all valid cards when presented for payment of Debit transaction when such transactions can be initiated and completed electronically. If a technical malfunction prevents electronic initiation and completion of a transaction, Merchant is not obligated to complete such Debit transaction. Merchant shall treat transactions by any Debit Network cardholders in the same manner as transactions by any other cardholders as permitted by the Rules and law. Merchant may not require or request the cardholder's signature or any other means of verifying the cardholder's identity.
