Helper. An employee who is required to do grinding and general cleanup of fabricated components, moving and loading material, hydro testing vessels and equipment, sandblasting, yard crane operator, truck driver, assisting fabricators, fitters and welders in the performance of their work. Helpers will be limited in welding and flame cutting functions in minor jobs to a maximum of two hours daily.
Helper. An employee assisting Trades employees in various classes of electrical work. A Helper shall do the work assigned by the Employer or by the Trades employee with whom the helper has been assigned to work, which work shall include the handling and transportation of materials and the operation of motor vehicles. Helpers shall not be called upon to come into direct contact with conductors or equipment which is potentially alive. The number of helpers shall not exceed one (1) to each Trades employee in the department. To the extent that a helper is not specifically prevented from doing so by the terms of this Agreement, a helper can be required to perform the work without a Trades employee being present either alone or together with other helpers.
Helper. All employees employed by the Employer on the signing date of the present collective agreement and who holds or occupies a position of helper, wrapping machine helper, re-cut helper, fabrication helper, packaging helper, racker or unracker is subject to the f ollowing wage scale. After December 23rd 2002, the employee receives the hourly rate in effect for his position.
