HEAVY WORK. The Company agrees it will not create an unnecessary burden upon any employee that would be injurious to the employee's health by requiring the employee to do heavy work alone, such as heavy work on springs, transmissions, reline, repacks, batteries, etc. Heavy work will be distributed as equally as possible. Employees will be required to use safety equipment while working under coaches, such equipment to be made available by the Company.

HEAVY WORK. Trade unions and Nexperia are jointly investigating whether Nexperia's work is 'heavy'. Based on the results of the joint investigation, they are determining whether and what measures are necessary in the context of the national pension agreement with regard to the RVO scheme or leave savings.

The work requires regular and protracted periods of considerable and strenuous physical exertion, such as carrying or lifting heavy objects (over 50 pounds); hacking passages through dense vegetation; or climbing ladders or scaffolds carrying heavy equipment used to install, maintain, or repair research installations. Incumbents are required to have agility and dexterity sufficient to walk over wet, rough, or uneven surfaces. Work involves bending, crouching, stooping, lifting, stretching, reaching, and similar activities.

Employees be required to use safety equipment made available by the Company. Such equipment will be maintained in a safe and fit condition. Suitable sanitary conditions shall provided for use of the employees. An assembly shall be provided by the Company at the garages and sufficient individual lockers shall be for the accommodation of the employees. Wash basins, with hand soap and towels and bath towels shall also be provided. When an employee is instructed to travel between ga- rages and terminals shall be furnished tion by the Company. The service truck will not be used for personal use except for transporting employees to transportation locations following an evening shift. Licensed Trades Person This will include mechanics, weld- ers and body repair people who are properly licensed and able to perform all restricted skills as designated by the Ontario Regulations. Trades people required to take special courses or training as a result of new Legislation in or- der to maintain their licence, will he the number of hours required for the course to a maximum of eight (8) hours straight time for each required clay. Apprentice Mechanic This classification includes all employees who have entered the Apprenticeship program. The Company reserves the right to determine the number of Company-sponsored em- ployees in the Apprenticeship Program at any given time. SELECTION PROCESS All applicants for the position of appren- ▇▇▇▇ will be required to take the Greyhound MechanicalAptitude Test (Version March 2005) qualifying exam and also meet the entrance standards of the applicable Provincial Apprenticeship Board. The Company and Union will meet to develop future versions of this test. Applicants who meet the Boards entrance standards and achieve test results at or above the qualifying level will be consid- ered “assessment-qualified. Assessment-qualifiedapplicants will be se- lected to fill vacancies or new apprentice positions via their company seniority. SCHEDULINGAND SCHOOL The apprentice agrees to attend school at the earliest opportunity, subject to agree- ment of such scheduling by the Garage Manager designate).
