Groundskeeper. An Employee who is responsible for the maintenance and caretaking of the College grounds.
Groundskeeper. Classification description: Maintains outside grounds of college campus areas. Sets up for special events and moves equipment and supplies. LANDSCAPE GARDENER: Classification description: Plans and executes landscaping operations and maintains grounds and landscape of college property. Propagates and grows horticultural specialty products such as seeds, bulbs, rootstocks, sod, ornamental plants, and cut flowers. Inspects plants and property periodically to ascertain nutrient deficiencies, detect insect, disease, and pest infestations, and identify foreign plant growth, and selects, purchases, and schedules materials, such as fertilizers and herbicides, to ensure quality control. MAINTENANCE MECHANIC Classification description: Repairs and maintains buildings and equipment (including boilers), using hand tools and power tools; replaces defective electrical switches and other fixtures; paints structures; repairs plumbing fixtures; repairs plaster and lays bricks. Groundskeeper. 1. The position work year will be nine (9) months March 1 through November 31, including possible Saturday and/or Sunday during this time.
2. Groundskeeper will accrue sick leave fifteen sick days per year (15) and three (3) personal days beginning March 1 of each year.
3. One hundred twenty (120) days work in a given work season will equal one (1) year for step purposes on salary schedule.
Groundskeeper. An employee who changes categories shall retain any previously accrued seniority in his/her job category and will not carry over any previously accrued seniority to the new category. Employees shall accrue seniority in the category in which he/she is currently employed. For certificated staff, the annual Sequence of Honorable Dismissal List shall be published no later than seventy-five (75) days prior to the end of the school term, consistent with the requirements of Section 24-12 of the Illinois School Code
Groundskeeper. The Board may employ a full-time flexible-hour groundskeeper, whose duties shall primarily be performed between March 1 and November 30 of the calendar year. The groundskeeper’s work hours and work days, including any days Sunday through Saturday, shall be determined by the Superintendent or the Superintendent’s designee. In the event the groundskeeper works more than forty (40) hours in a workweek, he or she shall be entitled to overtime pay in accordance with Section 4.2. If the groundskeeper is requested by the Administration to perform custodial duties on a temporary basis, the groundskeeper shall make the appropriate designation on his or her time card/time sheet, and shall be paid at the custodial rate of pay for the time worked on custodial duties.
Groundskeeper. Advancement. Groundskeepers (and Maintenance Assistants while assigned to an off-site campus with the assigned pesticide tasks) currently at a range eight (8) of the parties’ salary schedule will be eligible to move to range nine (9) if they receive a certificate or attend a course agreed upon by the parties regarding the application and use of college used pesticides. The parties agree that the pesticide course shall consist of at least two separate three hour classes. In the future, groundskeepers (and Maintenance Assistants while assigned to an off-site campus with assigned pesticide tasks) will be hired at a range eight (8) and will be eligible to move the range (9) by completing the same course work. The District and CSEA will determine in the future as to how the classes may be provided to new employees in the classification of Groundskeeper. The pesticides class will be offered to each groundskeeper by the end of their second year of employment.
Groundskeeper. The workday of the groundskeeper shall be as provided in 4.20. On days when school is closed due to an emergency and students are not present, the Superintendent will have the authority to modify the workday in whole or in part of any non•certificated staff member. If the modification of the work day results in a decrease of an employee’s hours, any lost time shall be made up at a later time at the discretion of the Superintendent. If a ▇▇▇▇ or a custodian reports to work at his/her regularly scheduled start time and prior to the Superintendent’s decision to close school because of an emergency, the employee shall be paid a minimum of two (2) hours of his/her scheduled salary. Custodians asked to work beyond the normal workday for grounds and maintenance, custodial duties, at co-curricular activities, and general custodial duties will be offered on a rotating basis by building, then on the District level. If no custodian wishes to volunteer for the extra work, the District will offer the work to a temporary or substitute custodian.
Groundskeeper. An employee in this classification is responsible for ensuring the District grounds and grounds equipment are maintained with regard to safety, serviceability, cleanliness and appearance by performing skilled grounds maintenance tasks. An employee in this classification is responsible for the construction, repairs and upgrade work in schools and school district buildings, and for the construction and repair of furniture and structural equipment.
