Formative Clause Samples

A "Formative" clause defines the process or criteria by which something is developed, created, or established within the context of an agreement. This could involve specifying the steps for forming a committee, setting up a new entity, or establishing procedures for decision-making. For example, it might outline how members are selected or how initial meetings are convened. The core practical function of this clause is to ensure that the foundational elements or structures required by the agreement are clearly and systematically established, reducing ambiguity and facilitating smooth implementation.
Formative. Upon completion of the observations the Administration shall have a meeting with the Employee within five (5) working days, when possible, but in no case later than ten (10) working days after the observation, without mutual agreement of the Administrator and Employee. Prior to the conclusion of this meeting, or within five (5) days if mutually agreed to amendments are necessary, the Administration shall provide a copy of the formative evaluation conference to the Employee who shall sign a copy to acknowledge receipt. The formative evaluation conference shall outline and document instructional proficiencies/deficiencies relevant Employee behaviors, and target growth or professional development recommendations.
Formative. Available to employees with four (4) or more years experience. Employees remain in the Formative Track a maximum of three (3) years or until they voluntarily opt to cycle to the Summative Track or the District determines the employee has not met minimum criteria. The Formative Track uses collegial involvement aimed at accomplishing professional growth and improved instruction. Formative. 1. To help identify struggling teachers early, all teachers shall receive a minimum of one formal formative observation by the last work day in October or the end of the first quarter, whichever occurs later. 2. In order to ensure immediate feedback, copies of formative observation forms shall be given to teachers no later than the end of the school day following the day of the formative observation. 3. A Formative Observation shall not be less than fifteen (15) minutes.
