Force Hire. 21.7.1 To prevent a force hire, “qualified/certified” personnel may be assigned additional time at ranks below their current rank. In reference to the Engineer rank, individuals must have previously held that rank in order to be assigned. The person with the rank closest to the vacancy will be utilized first. 21.7.2 An individual who is force hired may elect to have an individual one rank above with qualifications to cover their assignment.
