Common use of Floating Holidays Clause in Contracts

Floating Holidays. Employees who have completed 20 weeks of continuous service in any calendar year are entitled to three floating holidays. Such days will be taken on dates mutually agreeable to the employee and the supervisor. Floating holidays must be taken in the year they are earned (i.e. there is no carryover for floating holidays). If an employee terminates after completing 20 weeks of continuous service in a calendar year, OPG will make a cash payment in lieu of any unused floating holiday credits. If an employee terminates prior to the completion of 20 weeks of continuous service in a calendar year, entitlement is as follows: • An employee not entitled to floating holidays in the previous calendar year is not entitled to floating holidays in the current calendar year.
