Five Year Cycle. If a teacher begins teaching in the District during a year other than during a year of his/her state certification or recertification, the District frequency-of-credit requirement will be waived until the beginning of the teacher's next five-year recertification cycle. From this year on, the District frequency-of-credit requirement (five-year cycle) will coincide with the cycle of his/her state recertification.
Five Year Cycle. The evaluator may extend to a member the option to be evaluated on a five-year cycle instead of annually or every other year. To be eligible for this option, the member must have at least three consecutive years of satisfactory performance and indicate the choice on Appendix C-1; page 1 by the 3rd Friday in October. o During the five-year cycle, to comply with Education Code § 44664, the evaluator will continuously monitor performance and complete a Summative Evaluation Statement (Appendix C-3). The Summative Evaluation Statement will be prepared by the evaluator every other year, signed by the member, and placed in the personnel file. A copy of the evaluation will be provided to the member at the End of the Year Summary meeting. o During the five-year cycle, when no formal evaluation is being conducted, the member is not responsible for writing goals or meeting with the evaluator at the beginning and end of year. However, the five-year status does not prohibit the evaluator from conducting informal observations. In such cases, it is the evaluator’s responsibility to communicate throughout the year with the member regarding any concerns related to his/her performance. When an evaluator determines that a member will no longer be eligible for the five-year evaluation cycle, it is the responsibility of the evaluator to notify the member(s) prior to June 20th using Appendix C-3. Such notification shall include purpose and rationale to support consecutive year evaluations.

As allowed by Education Code Section 1307 44664(a)(3), with the mutual agreement of the evaluator and unit 1308 member, a permanent unit member may be evaluated at least every 1309 five (5) years if he/she has been employed at least ten (10) years with 1310 the District, is highly qualified, if he/she occupies a position that is 1311 required to be filled by a highly qualified professional by the Federal 1312 No Child Left Behind Act as defined in 20 U.S.C.S. 7801, and whose 1313 previous evaluation rated the unit member as meeting standards. The 1314 evaluator or the unit member may withdraw consent for this five-year 1315 evaluation option at any time. The Certificated Evaluation 5-Year 1316 Cycle Form shall be signed by both parties by September 25 to initiate 1317 the five-year evaluation cycle. (See form in Appendix F.)
Five Year Cycle. A full inspection report should be undertaken every five years comparing records from previous inspections and the original work, particularly monitoring structural movement and durability of utilities. • Repaint windows every five to fifteen years. Ten-Year Cycle • Check condition of roof every ten years after last replacement.
Five Year Cycle. Upon agreement of the evaluator and an eligible unit member, the unit member shall be evaluated at least every five (5) years (Appendix A-2). Either the unit member or the evaluator may withdraw consent at any time. An eligible unit member is one who meets all of the following criteria:

Five Year Cycle. Permanent certificated employees who have been with the District at least ten (10) years and whose recent evaluation ratings have met or exceeded satisfactory may be evaluated at least every five (5) years, provided the employee and his/her primary evaluator consent. The certificated employee or the evaluator may withdraw consent at any time and return to the at least every other year cycle. A conference shall be scheduled prior to the return to the two-year cycle. Certificated employees who are teaching in the current core academic areas defined in the ESEA shall also be required to meet the definition of “highly qualified” as stated by the Act.
Five Year Cycle. The teacher, with administrator approval, will select/design a professional growth activity to be completed by May 15th. This may be completed anytime during the first four years of the Level III evaluation cycle.
