Fasteners. A. General: Provide fasteners of size and type indicated that comply with requirements specified in this article for material and manufacture.

(1) SAE Grades 5, 8 and 8.2 and ASTM Grade A325 fasteners, identified at xxxx://xxxxxx.xxx/ehss/downloads/headmark- list-suspect-counterfeit-fasteners-1992 entitled Suspect Fastener Headmark List, cannot be introduced into DOE facilities. Therefore, such fasteners shall not be provided as deliverable end items or incorporated into deliverable end items under this contract.
Fasteners. Factory-coated steel fasteners and metal or plastic plates complying with corrosion- resistance provisions in FM Approvals 4470, designed for fastening roofing components to substrate, and acceptable to roofing system manufacturer.

Fastener head shall recess fully into the plastic plate after it is driven. Plates shall be formed to prevent dishing. Do not use xxxx-or cup-shaped plates. Fasteners shall conform to insulation manufacturer's recommendations.
