External Hires. If a vacancy cannot be filled internally under this Article, then the Employer shall have the right to hire from external sources, providing that the same knowledge, skills and abilities requirements are applied to external and internal candidates.
External Hires. Salary Ranges – The normal starting salary for a successful external candidate for a vacancy in a salary range may be established by the hiring department at a salary rate up to 15 percent above the established range minimum salary. Hires beyond the 15 percent hiring range, but not in excess of the established range maximum, require VP/▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ approval and authorization.
External Hires. Employees hired into a full time permanent position shall receive full rate of pay and benefits, commencing on the first day of employment, and shall have a probationary period equal to 1040 hours worked.
External Hires. All new external employees shall be considered probationary employees for a period of one (1) year, provided, however, that such probationary period shall be extended for a period of time equal to the time that an employee is absent from for any reason for a period greater than fourteen (14) consecutive days. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, an employee shall be placed on the seniority list and shall have seniority dating from their last date of hire. The Union shall represent probationary employees for the purposes of collective bargaining; however, probationary employees may be laid off or terminated by the Employer at any time without regard and without recourse to this Agreement.
