Common use of Extended Maternity Leave Clause in Contracts

Extended Maternity Leave. a. Upon written request at least ten (10) working days prior to the expiration of pregnancy leave and/or parental leave, an additional leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority shall be granted to a maximum of twelve (12) months. b. The employee may maintain health and employee benefits in accordance with the respective plans if the employee so wishes by payment of the costs of such benefits by the employee. c. The employee returning to work after extended maternity leave shall provide the Board with at least ten (10) working days notice. d. On return from extended maternity leave, the employee shall return to the position previously held by the employee.
