The Experience Step Increases clause establishes a system for adjusting employee compensation based on their length of service or accumulated experience. Typically, this clause outlines specific intervals—such as annually or after a set number of months—at which employees become eligible for pay raises, often according to a predetermined salary scale or grid. Its core practical function is to reward employee loyalty and experience, providing a transparent and predictable method for salary progression, which can help with retention and motivation.
Experience Step Increases. This Agreement provides for up to four (4) step increases for directors and assistant principals. Each step increase equals 3% and represents credit for one year of experience.
Experience Step Increases. Lab Postdoctoral Scholars whose initial LBL appointment occurred from October 1 through April 1, shall move to the next experience minimum salary rate step on October 1 of each year. Lab Postdoctoral Scholars whose initial LBL appointment occurred from April 2 through September 30 shall not be guaranteed to move up to the next minimum salary rate step until October 1st of next year.
