Exempt Positions. No worker in the bargaining unit shall be in an exempt status for overtime purposes.
Exempt Positions. The Sheriff may designate positions within these classifications that will have the holidays observed as in Section 27.1 above.

Exempt Positions a) If an employee accepts a temporary position with the Employer which is exempt from the Bargaining Unit for a term of less than one (1) calendar year, the employee shall continue to accrue seniority in the Bargaining Unit. After one (1) calendar year, the employee’s seniority will be frozen from the date they left the Bargaining Unit.
Exempt Positions. Nothing contained herein shall be construed to include in the bargaining unit any person whose duties as deputy, administrative assistant, or secretary necessarily imply a confidential relationship to the Board of Directors or Superintendent of the District pursuant to RCW 41.56.030 (2).
Exempt Positions. The classification plan will not include positions which are exempt from the classified service. Such exempt positions include but are not limited to: substitute and short-term employees, full-time students employed part time, apprentices and professional experts employed on a temporary basis.
Exempt Positions. The Civil Service Commission is granted the authority by the State of Washington to be the administrator of promotional opportunities for non-exempt positions within the Lakewood Police Department. Promotional processes will be in conformance with the Civil Service Rules and any applicable collective bargaining agreements. The Lakewood Police Department acts as a resource to the Civil Service Commission to ensure any promotional process identifies the skills, knowledge, and abilities necessary for the promotional opportunity. The Police Department also provides assistance in the coordination and the facilitation of a promotional process.
