Common use of EPSDT Exams Clause in Contracts

EPSDT Exams. The Contractor shall ensure that children in custody have access to a Provider who can perform an Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) screening within 30 calendar days of notification that the child was removed from the home. Whenever possible, the EPSDT screening should be completed within the five day time-frame. Additionally, the Contractor shall ensure that children in custody have access to a Provider who can perform a EPSDT screening according to the EPSDT periodicity schedule until age six, then annually thereafter until the age of 21. Previously, the EPSDT exam was referred to as a CHEC (Child Health Evaluation and Care) exam in Utah.
