Employer Neutrality and Majority Verification Procedure. A. Red Cross and each the Union of the Coalition recognize that it is important: for employees to have a voice at work; to acknowledge and respect the fundamental rights of workers to decide whether to be represented by a Union and engage in collective bargaining in an environment free of intimidation, threats or coercion; and to acknowledge and respect the role of Unions in representing the interests of employees who have chosen to designate the Union as their exclusive representatives for purposes of collective negotiations. The parties believe that collective bargaining is a vehicle that provides respect to workers; and, understand that voice, collaboration, and partnership are consistent with the mission of the American Red Cross. Further, the Parties recognize that non-union employees within Red Cross have the right to express their desire to be represented by a Union and that the Unions of the Coalition International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) desire to represent these employees.
