Emergency Defined. “Emergency” shall be defined as any natural phenomenon or act of man which creates a condition of emergency beyond the capability of the affect local government to control and resolve, utilizing its locally available forces and resources, and any imminent threat of widespread or severe damage, personal injury and hardship, or loss of life and property resulting from any natural phenomenon or act of man.
Emergency Defined. The Employer may immediately suspend the agreed upon notice of layoff for the duration of an emergency, beyond the Employer’s control, which compels an interruption or delays in operation when the emergency is caused by strikes, sleet or snow storms, ice, flood or fire, or similar catastrophe.
Emergency Defined. An emergency shall be defined as a situation or occurrence of a serious nature developing suddenly and unexpectedly and demanding immediate action.

Emergencies are defined as those situations which cannot be dealt with outside of working hours, which are unplanned, and which require the individual to absent himself or herself from his or her duties. Emergencies are not defined as injury or sickness to the individual. Emergency leaves are to be deducted from sick leave.

Emergency Defined a. An emergency exists when the driving assignment is scheduled on a student attendance day and two (2) hours or less before a start time the assigned driver is absent or unavailable for a route and a driver must be assigned on an emergency basis.
Emergency Defined. In the event the City announces a Police Alert the following provisions shall govern. All personnel are subject to Alert, Standby and/or Call-back at any time due to an emergency. For purposes of this Article and Article XVIII only "emergency" shall be defined as any event or situation such as a natural disaster, civil disaster, riot, or uprising necessitating the use of a large number of police.

An Emergency that involves localized restoration is referred to as a “Localized Emergency” and an Emergency where a “Storm Response” is activated is referred to as a “Major Storm” or “Major Storm Restoration.”
