Common use of Elementary Prep Time Clause in Contracts

Elementary Prep Time. 1. The Board agrees to continue its practice regarding teacher preparation time for elementary teachers during those times when students receive instruction from special area teachers such as teachers of art, music or physical education. The Board will provide an average of at least two hundred forty (240) minutes per week of teacher preparation time (exclusive of recess time) for each full-time elementary teacher of regular education classes, prorated for part-time. The District will strive to schedule at least one (1) preparation period per day for each Elementary teacher. Elementary special area teachers, special education teachers, and other teachers with similar schedules, will also be scheduled for an average of at least 240 minutes of preparation time, but such time may not be scheduled in the same manner as for elementary teachers of regular education classes.
