Common use of Electronic Information Exchange Clause in Contracts

Electronic Information Exchange. (EIE) Definition For discussion purposes herein, EIE is any electronic process in which SSA discloses information under its control to any third party for program or non- program purposes, without the specific consent of the subject individual or any agent acting on his or her behalf. EIE involves individual data transactions and data files processed within the programmatic systems of parties to electronic information sharing agreements with SSA. This includes direct terminal access (DTA) to SSA systems, batch processing, and variations thereof (e.g., online query) regardless of the systematic method used to accomplish the activity or to interconnect SSA with the EIEP.
