Common use of Early Periodic Screening Diagnostic and Treatment Clause in Contracts

Early Periodic Screening Diagnostic and Treatment. (EPSDT) means the State of 17 California’s implementation of the Federal child health component of Medicaid program which provides 18 physical, mental, and developmental health services for children and young adults. EPSDTis a Medi-Cal 19 benefit for individuals under the age of 21 who have full-scope Medi-Cal eligibility. This benefit allows 20 for periodic screenings to determine health care needs in accordance with the requirements in Section 21 1905(r) of the Social Security Act and Title 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Section 441.50 et 22 seq Services are comprehensive, high-quality array of preventive (such as screening), diagnostic, and 23 treatment services under EPSDT and are covered without cost.
