DUTY DAY FOR TEACHERS. 1. The regular duty day for teachers shall not exceed eight hours per day, including the lunch period, for not more than 187 contract days. If the lunch period is longer than thirty minutes, duty may be assigned to affected teachers. There shall be no additional pay for time until the teacher has exceeded eight hours in the duty day, not to include time spent in activities outlined in Section 3, below. The scheduling of school hours and employee duty day shall be the exclusive decision of the Board. In the event that state funding provides for additional school days, teachers will be compensated at their daily rate.
