Driving Licence. A full and valid driving licence must have been held for a minimum of 12 months. For rentals starting from Plymouth, Exeter, Taunton, Carmarthan, Pembroke, Aberystwyth and Llanelli the driving licence must have been held for a minimum of 2 years prior to picking up the vehicle. For UK photocard driving licence holders: in addition to the photocard we will need you and/or any driver to provide us with the one-time passcode that can be generated using the new DVLA online service “Share Driving Licence”. Please note that Share Driving Licence passcodes are valid for a maximum period of 21 days so you should ensure each code is generated at a time when it will still be valid at the time you and/or any driver are due to pick up the car or van. Some Licences are only valid in the country of issue e.g. India, so an International Driving Licence is required. UK Nationals residing overseas are advised to use a driving licence of the country in which they reside or they will be subject to the ▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇▇ must hold and produce a driving licence valid in the country where the rental takes place. The driving licence must have been issued by authorised authorities at least 12 months before the date of the commencement of the rental. Please note that the international driving licence is valid only if European Union and the rental takes place in another European Union country, except in some specific cases such as certain special or luxury vehicles. In most countries, you must be aged 21 or over to rent a car and have held a driving licence for at least one year. Please note that Europcar accepts major credit cards such as American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard, and Visa. As certain credit card companies may not be represented in all countries, it is advisable to verify in advance the acceptance of a given card in a small or remote country (see section ‘Specific Rental Terms'). Credit cards are accepted to the limits authorised by the credit card company. You are re- quested to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as you commenced the rental. A re-fuelling charge will be made if it is necessary to bring the level of fuel up to where it was when you took the vehicle. No refund will be given for any fuel in excess of the original reading. Hiring period: This is calculated on a 24-hour basis. Rental times may be adjusted to suit individual hirers' requirements subject to vehicle availability. Payment: The full cost of rental plus a damage deposit must be paid before any vehicle is released for rental. Payment must be made by major credit/debit cards only. Your responsibilities: You must look after the vehicle and the keys to the vehicle. You must always lock the vehicle when you are not using it, and use any security device fitted to or supplied with the vehicle. You must always protect the vehicle against bad weather, which can cause damage. You must make sure that you use the correct fuel, as you are responsible for any resultant damage. You must not sell, rent, or dispose of the vehicle or any of its parts. You must not give anyone any legal rights over the vehicle. You must not let anyone work on the vehicle without our permission. If we do give you permission, we will only give you a refund if you have a receipt for the work. You must let us know as soon as you become aware of a fault in the vehicle. What to do if you have an international incident: If you have an incident you must not admit responsibility. You should get the names and addresses of everyone involved, including witnesses. You should also: You must then fill in our incident report form when you return the vehicle or if this is not possible, verbal details will be taken from you to then sign a copy of the information you have supplied. In any event this procedure must be actioned within 24 hours whichever is sooner.
