DOT Physical Clause Samples

The DOT Physical clause establishes the requirement for individuals, typically commercial drivers, to undergo a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical examination to ensure they meet specific health and safety standards. This clause generally applies to employees whose job duties involve operating commercial motor vehicles, mandating that they obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical certificate as a condition of employment. By enforcing this requirement, the clause helps ensure that only medically qualified individuals are permitted to perform safety-sensitive transportation roles, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and promoting public safety.
