Disciplinary Layoff Process Clause Samples
The Disciplinary Layoff Process clause outlines the procedures an employer must follow when temporarily suspending an employee from work as a disciplinary measure. Typically, this clause details the steps for investigating alleged misconduct, notifying the employee, and specifying the duration and terms of the layoff, such as whether it is paid or unpaid. Its core function is to ensure that disciplinary layoffs are handled consistently and fairly, providing both the employer and employee with clear expectations and protections during the process.

Should a non-probationary employee who has been discharged or given a disciplinary layoff consider such discipline to be improper, a grievance may be processed at step two (2) of the grievance procedure, provided the grievance is submitted within five (5) working days from the date discipline was imposed on the grieving employee.
