Discharge for Cause or Quit Clause Samples

The 'Discharge for Cause or Quit' clause defines the circumstances under which an employee may be terminated for specific reasons or may voluntarily resign from their position. Typically, this clause outlines what constitutes 'cause' for discharge, such as misconduct, violation of company policies, or poor performance, and may also describe the procedures for resignation, including notice requirements. Its core practical function is to establish clear guidelines for ending the employment relationship, thereby protecting both the employer and employee by ensuring mutual understanding of acceptable grounds for termination or resignation.
