Common use of Design Completion Clause in Contracts

Design Completion. On completion of the production engineering design, the Contractor shall present the detailed design to the Lead Engineer, Engineering Design Work Lead and Project Manager for acceptance. The acceptance of the system engineering design by the Engineers and Project Manager will form the basis for the release for construction and erection on site. The Contractor shall keep records of all designs calculations in a format that can be readily followed by a knowledgeable person, and make these documents and calculations available to the Project Manager on request. Production engineering design freeze is a key activity date (project milestone) whereby the Project Manager will accept the production engineering design documentation. The finalized design after the completion of the project shall be the property of Tutuka Power Station.
