Definition of Val/Ver. A publication shall be considered validated and verified when the following is completed. All front matter (cover, title page, table of contents, and warnings and cautions) is complete and placed in the appropriate places. The content of each chapter, including descriptions; step-by- step procedures; tables; figures; and warnings, cautions and notes, is written, with a minimal amount of error. The content in the chapters must flow in a clear and logical sequence and be written in the proper format. A table of contents is complete and correctly links to the appropriate chapter, paragraph, table or figure, etc. RPSTL (parts breakdown) data is finalized and in place. The Val/Ver review will consist of a paper review and the Operator’s Manual in electronic form on CD, to verify the linking. The contractor/editor will have received all the copyright releases at this time. Marines will conduct the Val/Ver and those findings will be adjudicated and the Operator’s Manual in electronic form finalized and submitted for Government Program Office approval.
