DC SYSTEM Sample Clauses

DC SYSTEM. This system must use a battery of 48 or 125 VDC to supply tripping energy to the generator circuit breaker. All such installations must isolate (trip) the generator in such a manner that: a manual operation or a time-delayed automatic synchro-check or voltage check supervised operation is required to close the generator or point-of-contact breaker (contactor) after the GPU Energy source has returned to normal. Under no circumstances is the generator contactor (breaker) to close immediately upon restoration of the GPU Energy source. An amber or yellow lamp shall provided to monitor the DC source and shall have a nameplate.
DC SYSTEM. The Power Barge is equipped with a DC system which feeds DC power to the control, automation, protection and alarm systems needed to ensure safe operation and shutdown of the plant in case of a failure in the AC based station service system.
DC SYSTEM. The DC system shall consist of two 125V DC battery banks, two 100% chargers, and a distribution panel to provide power for controls, DC motors, and miscellaneous DC items. The DC system shall operate at a nominal 125 volts, ungrounded. A standard DC ground detection scheme utilizing a ground detector relay should be used. The station battery shall have sufficient capacity to supply the demand of the connected loads to permit an orderly and safe shutdown of the generating units. The capacity includes 45 minutes continuous operation for the connected load. The battery rack shall have capacity for 50% additional batteries to be added in the future. Recommended engineering practices for ventilation, containment, isolation, and corrosion protection for and from the battery system shall be followed in the design of the system.
