Common use of Competitive Examination Clause in Contracts

Competitive Examination. The relative fitness of the applicants for appointment, or promotion within the employment of the City will be determined by competitive examination, which will include the consideration and rating of any or all of the following qualification factors: education, experience, general adaptability, special aptitudes, physical fitness, knowledge, skills, personality, character, and such other qualifications as may be deemed necessary for the satisfactory performance of the duties of the respective position. All factors being equal, seniority shall determine appointment.
