Common Purpose. 2.1.1 It is recognised by all the Parties the need to maintain a consultative and participative approach to implement sustained productivity, efficiency and flexibility across all areas of our operations. The Parties recognise there is a continued need to develop a responsible, competitive and reliable workplace which is responsive to the changing environmental, work and commercial demands on our operations. 2.1.2 It is acknowledged that there is a need to further progress the sharing of resources, equipment and personnel between the operations in order to enhance viability and competitiveness for a positive future. 2.1.3 The regionalisation of the milling, maintenance and cane supply areas requires the Parties to continually focus on seeking improvements in order to add value and/or efficiency to the way the Parties have traditionally operated. 2.1.4 The Company’s future relies on its employees as does its employees' futures rely on the future of the Company. This alignment between the Company's responsibilities and those of employees means that there is a sharing of the accountability for the Parties’ collective future. 2.1.5 Our future will be provided greater stability if: (a) we all know and assume the responsibility, authority and accountability of our roles; (b) we all develop the business skills needed and freely apply them in effective ways consistent with safety, environmental and legal requirements; (c) we all work successfully together to manage for the future and not focus solely on the present or the past; (d) we all ensure that we provide and receive regular feed back on our performance; and (e) leadership and support prevail in our workforce. 2.1.6 Together, we are willing to learn and willing to change.
