Common use of COMMITMENT TO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENT Clause in Contracts

COMMITMENT TO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENT. 40.1 The Contractor shall work with the Council in so far as necessary to improve the effects of the operational services on the environment both in terms of the ‘direct effects’ and the ‘service effects’. 40.2 In this respect the Contractor shall use its best endeavours to strive to improve the environmental efficiency of Contracted Service and provide a flexible approach to the management of these services and shall during the Term of this Agreement: 40.2.1 demonstrate to the Council or its Authorised Officer a commitment to continuous improvement and to employing the best practicable environmental options in the provision of the service wherever possible; 40.2.2 demonstrate to the Council or its Authorised Officer a commitment to compliance with environmental legislation in place from time to time; 40.2.3 incorporate into the decision making process of the Contractor the principles set out in Clause 44.3 below; and 40.2.4 demonstrate to the Council or its Authorised Officer a commitment to managing and operating the service in accordance with best practice. 40.3 The Contractor shall consider environmental efficiency as part of the operational planning process on an ongoing basis throughout the Agreement.
