Common use of Commercial Work Clause in Contracts

Commercial Work. The Employer, when requiring men, shall consult with the Local Union with respect to qualified union members available to work, and the Union shall supply to the Employer, or make available with a list of qualified, and currently available for work, union members with the address of their current principal permanent residence. The Employer may select any union member he desires provided that no more than two (2) employees per job site are from outside the geographic region. The two (2) employees from outside the geographic region may be the first two employees hired. When the Employer has made his selection he shall contact the Union Office who shall immediately contact the man to ask him to report to work as per the Employer’s instructions. If Local 437 cannot supply the quantity and\or the skill required, the signatory Sheet Metal Company may procure such men as are available. All men so hired shall be cleared though the Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, as to Union membership before employment commences and shall become members of Local Union 437 within seven (7) calendar days.
