Common use of Classes Represented Clause in Contracts

Classes Represented. The University recognizes the Union as the exclusive representative in all negotiable matters pertaining to wages and salaries, hours, working conditions, and other conditions of employment for the following classifications of employees as defined or established by the State Universities Civil Service System of Illinois and employed by the University at its Urbana- Champaign campus (including employees who may be assigned to work locations outside the Urbana-Champaign campus, such as the Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx Park location, Xxxxx Springs location, Chicago, and all other locations deemed to be a part of the Urbana-Champaign campus). Any decision by the University to dismiss a non-status employee cannot be appealed by the Union nor challenged through the grievance procedure.

Any decision by the University Dismissal of an employee serving in a learner, trainee, or intern position is not appealable or subject to dismiss a non-status employee cannot be appealed by the Union nor challenged through the grievance procedure.. The parties further acknowledge and agree that the classifications set forth below were previously recognized as falling within the Local 3700 bargaining unit, but were deleted from the list set forth above because those classifications were eliminated by the State Universities Civil Service System, were no longer used by the University, or otherwise had become inapplicable. To the extent that any of the deleted classifications are revived by the State Universities Civil Service System and used by the University, the University will recognize those classifications as coming within the bargaining unit, provided that the essential job duties for those classifications are substantially the same as they were when those classifications were previously part of the bargaining unit. Any decision by the University Dismissal of an employee serving in a learner, trainee, or intern position is not appealable or subject to dismiss a non-status employee cannot be appealed by the Union nor challenged through the grievance procedure.. The parties further acknowledge and agree that the classifications set forth below were previously recognized as falling within the Local 3700 bargaining unit, but were deleted from the list set forth above because those classifications were eliminated by the State Universities Civil Service System, were no longer used by the University, or otherwise had become inapplicable. To the extent that any of the deleted classifications are revived by the State Universities Civil Service System and used by the University, the University will recognize those classifications as coming within the bargaining unit, provided that the essential job duties for those classifications are substantially the same as they were when those classifications were previously part of the bargaining unit.
