Common use of Class Assignments Clause in Contracts

Class Assignments. a. To allow for expansion of the faculty hiring pool and in order to forward the Strategic goals of the College, a defined number of sections shall be reserved for assignment within the division. The number of reserved sections for each division shall be determined by multiplying two (2) sections times the number of departments in the division. (The number of departments will be determined by the RIF units.) After regular full-time faculty assignments and, if requested, one (1) full-time faculty moonlight assignment are filled, Priority Associate faculty within a department will be assigned a minimum fifty percent (50%) load of classes they are qualified to teach but before associate assignments are made, with the exception of sections reserved by divisions that may be assigned to associates to expand the hiring pool.
