CITY SECURITY. Section 1: SAFO and the City agree that the public interest requires the efficient and uninterrupted performance of emergency services and to this end pledge their best efforts to avoid or eliminate any conduct contrary to this objective. SAFO and the City agree that during the life of this Agreement they will not cause, encourage, participate in or support any strike or picketing against management or any slowdown or other interruption of or interference with the normal routine. Section 2: In the event of a strike, work stoppage or interference with the operation of the Fire Department, the President of the Union shall within twenty-four (24) hours publicly disavow such strike or work stoppage and request employees to return to work and attempt to bring about prompt resumption of normal operations. Such request shall be made in writing with a copy of such written request supplied to the City. SAFO shall notify the City within twenty-four (24) hours after the commencement of such work interruption as to the measures taken to comply with the provision of this Article. Section 3: Violation of any provision of this Article by SAFO shall be cause for the City’s terminating this Agreement upon the giving of written notice to this effect to the President of the Union in addition to whatever other remedies may be available to the City at law or in equity.
