Circumventing Layoff or Bumping Process Sample Clauses

The "Circumventing Layoff or Bumping Process" clause prohibits employers or employees from bypassing established procedures for layoffs or the reassignment of employees (bumping) during workforce reductions. This clause ensures that all parties adhere to agreed-upon steps, such as seniority-based selection or notification requirements, rather than making unilateral decisions or side agreements to avoid the formal process. Its core function is to maintain fairness and transparency in workforce adjustments, preventing favoritism or arbitrary actions that could undermine employee rights or disrupt workplace order.
