Common use of Changes in the Contract Time Clause in Contracts

Changes in the Contract Time. The Contract Time may be changed only by a Change Order. Changes in the Work described in section (a) of this Article and any other claim made by the Contractor for a change in the Contract Time will be evaluated by the Engineer and if the conditions warrant, an appropriate adjustment of the Contract Time will be made. The Engineer, when making these evaluations will take into consideration the amount and scope of Work which has been changed and will evaluate if the change in Work has affected the Critical Path as currently accepted on the Progress Schedule such that it would delay the completion of the Project. If after these evaluations have been made, and in the sole opinion of the Engineer the Contractor is due an extension of the Contract Time, then it will be granted by a Change Order. Extensions of the Contract Time granted as a result of weather will not result in a change in Contract Price.
